This Microsoft Teams tutorial will show you how to share your screen in a Microsoft Teams meeting. Screen sharing in Microsoft Teams is generally pretty simple and easy to figure out. However, Microsoft has changed the share content menu in Microsoft Teams multiple times which can often make sharing your screen much more difficult than it should be. This tutorial is based on the most recent version of Microsoft Teams which means that it will provide you with up-to-date instructions on how to share your screen in Microsoft Teams.

To share your entire screen in a Microsoft Teams meeting follow these steps. Note when sharing your entire screen, all content (i.e. open apps, documents, windows, etc.) that is displayed on your screen will be visible to the meeting participants.

Step 1: In the meeting window, click on the “Share Content” button.

Step 2: Click on the “Screen” icon. Note that if you are using multiple monitors or displays, you will need to select the screen that you want to share.

Step 3: Next, you will see a red border around the screen that you are sharing. This is to indicate that any content that is displayed within that border is visible to meeting participants.

How To Share Your Window in a Microsoft Teams Meeting

To share a specific window during a Microsoft Teams meeting follow these steps. Note that when sharing a window in a Microsoft Teams meeting, only that window will be visible to meeting participants. If you were to drag another window on top of the shared window, this content would not be visible to meeting participants.

Step 1: In the meeting window, click on the “Share Content” button.

Step 2: Click on the “Window” icon. Note that the number in the brackets indicates how many windows are open.

Step 3: Select the window that you want to share from the list of open windows.

Step 4: Next, you will see a red border around the window that you are sharing. This is to indicate that any content that is displayed within that window is visible to meeting participants.

How To Stop Sharing Your Screen in Microsoft Teams

Step 1: To stop sharing your screen in Microsoft Teams meeting, click into the meeting window and click the “Share Content” button which will now have an “X” in it.
