How To Set Out Of Office In Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams allows users to set their out-of-office directly from the Microsoft Teams app and have the out-of-office message also synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. This means that when you set your out-of-office in Teams, it will automatically carry over into Microsoft Outlook as well. In fact, setting your out-of-office in Microsoft Teams actually requires fewer clicks than when you set your out-of-office in Microsoft Outlook. This article will provide step-by-step instructions on how to schedule and set your out-of-office in Microsoft Teams.

Setting Out-of-Office In Microsoft Teams

There are two different ways that you set your out-of-office in the Microsoft Teams desktop app. The first way is from your profile picture.

Step 1: Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner of the Microsoft Teams interface.

Step 2: Click on “Set Status Message”.

Step 3: Click on “Schedule Out Of Office”.

Step 4: Toggle “Turn Automatic Replies On” and then enter your out-of-office message.

Step 5: If you want to send your Microsoft Teams out-of-office message to individuals who email you from outside your organization, check “Send Replies outside my organization”. Next, you can choose to either send your Microsoft Teams out-of-office message to only your contacts or all external senders. If enabling this option, enter the Microsoft Teams out-of-office message that you would like to be sent specifically to external individuals.

How To Schedule Your Out-of-Office In Microsoft Teams

Step 7: To schedule your out-of-office in Microsoft Teams to display and send automatic replies only between a specific date and time, check the option that reads “Send replies during a time period” and then select the desired start date and time and end date and time. Click “Save” to set your out-of-office in Microsoft Teams.

Alternative Way To Schedule Out-of-Office In Microsoft Teams

In addition to the method outlined above, there is an alternative way to schedule your out-of-office in the Microsoft Teams desktop app. Users can also set their out-of-office in Teams from the application settings menus.

Step 1: Click on the “Settings And More Button” (the three dots to the right of your profile picture).
