Microsoft Teams Tutorial: Quote a Message in Teams Desktop
Microsoft Teams users have long clamored for the ability to reply to specific messages (also referred to as “quote” a message) in the Microsoft Teams desktop application. This simple yet powerful feature is available in almost every major social media platform (i.e. Instagram, Twitter) and messaging apps (i.e. Whatsapp) and was even available in the Microsoft Teams mobile app (see screenshot on the right) but was not available for use in the desktop app. That is until a few months ago when Microsoft announced that the feature was made generally available. Follow the steps below to reply to a message in the Microsoft Teams desktop application.
Steps To Reply To a Message In The Microsoft Teams Desktop Application

Step 1: Click into a chat and hover your cursor over a message that you want to reply to. As you hover over the message, a menu with emojis will appear. Click on the “…” (more options) button at the end of the menu.
Step 2: Clicking on the more options button will open a new menu. Click on “Reply”.
Step 3: This is going to quote the message that you selected in the compose box. Type your message in the compose and click “Send”.
